Happy belated New Year! (So many posts at one time! Sorry.)
Our minds have been trying to wrap around the fact that this year we will be moving to Romania. It is 2013! There is no more… “no, not this year, we are moving in 2013,” or “in a year and a half.” Holy Cow! I can not believe we have about 6 months here in California and 8 months in the U.S. Lord willing! (And let’s assume He is willing in this post, so I don’t have to keep writing that.)
This year I will turn 24 and Jeff will be 27! Where in the world did the time go! This year we will celebrate our 2 year wedding anniversary! This year Jeff will finish grad school and receive his Masters degree! And This time next year we will have moved to Romania! What else does the Lord have in store?! I would not have fathomed all of this would be happening! We are so excited to see what the Lord has planned for 2013! And I know some of this may change, more will happen, and next new years our minds will be blown again.
Over the last year we have had some great challenges and great experiences. Last year we found Adventures, went to orientation, went to GA twice, started raising funds, Jeff started a job, celebrated our first year of marriage, I lost a job and found another, the Cardells came to visit us here, and so much more!
I know many people who set new year resolutions and they review their life and what they want to change. I have to say, I went through a lot of that while I was looking for a job last fall. I hope that the changes that I have set before myself will stick. Some already have not…life is a work in progress, right.
But I do love reviewing my “themes” for the last year and what I learned. 2012 had a common theme of keeping a heavenly perspective, finding my joy in the Lord, and the faithfulness of the Lord. Some people say I am a little stubborn… and that may be slightly true, but thankfully the Lord does not give up on me, and He continued to allow me to remember these lessons this year. I pray I go into 2013 recognizing all of God’s provision and faithfulness. I pray that I rejoice in the Lord ALWAYS and remember my Joy is in my salvation from the Lord. I am excited and maybe a little nervous to see what “themes” will become 2013! What “themes” have occurred in your life this year?
Here are some pictures from the 2013 Rose Parade! We are a little sad that we won’t get to experience this next year. On with new adventures though. We brought in the new year with flowers, floats, breakfast casseroles, and wonderful friends!
I’m so excited to read about the things that God has in store for you. Love you guys!
